Sir Frederick Napier Broome KCMG (1842–1896) was a colonial administrator.
He was born in Canada, but was living in England in 1865, when he married [[Mary Anne Lady Wellinton ]]. The couple then moved to New Zealand.
He served as colonial secretary in Natal and Mauritius, including Lieutenant-Governor of Mauritius.
He was 14th Governor of Mauritius from 9 Dec 1880 to 5 May 1883.[1]
He was Governor of Western Australia from 1883 to 1889.
After serving as Governor of Western Australia, he served as acting Governor of Barbados in the West Indies and then Governor of Trinidad.
He died in London in 1896.

The Western Australian towns of Broome and broomehill are named after him.
