Born and raised in Holland, Frederique van der Wal started her modelling career in Europe, but soon moved to New York. After appearing on the covers of Cosmopolitan, Glamour and Vogue, the heavy-lidded Frederique began a close association with the lingerie merchant Victoria's Secret, making regular appearances in the company's catalogues throughout the 1990s. She also branched out into her own line of swimsuits, lingerie and fragrances. She played supporting roles in the movies Two Girls and a Guy (1997, with Robert Downey Jr.) and Wild Wild West (1999, with Will Smith).

Frederique van der Wal (also Frédérique van der Wal[1]) (born August 30, 1967) is a Dutch model, best known for her appearances in Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan, and Victoria's Secret. Van der Wal grew up in the city of the Hague. She attended college in The Netherlands and earned a bachelor's degree in economics. She manages her own financial affairs and businesses.

Career

Van der Wal has appeared on many magazine covers and in many catalogs. She started her career with Victoria's Secret in 1989. She now has her own line of clothing and fragrances. Van der Wal received the Lifetime Achievement Award, part of the Dutch Model Awards, on May 22, 2008 in Amsterdam. In 2005 Frederique had a lily named after her: Frederique's Choice. Since then she has started the world's first brand of flowers under the name Frederique's Choice, which saw its official launch in 2008.

Van der Wal has also appeared in several movies and television shows, most notably on the Travel Channel. Film credits of hers include Wild Wild West starring Will Smith in which she played Amazonia, and Woody Allen's Celebrity as a friend of the supermodel played by Charlize Theron. Van der Wal also had cameos in films such as 54 and The Million Dollar Hotel.

Van der Wal was a contestant on ABC's Celebrity Mole: Hawaii, on which she was "the Mole" - the rogue player hired by the producers to sabotage the player's money-earning efforts. She also hosted TLC's make-over show Cover Shot.

Van der Wal has a daughter with screenwriter Nicholas Klein, called Scyler Pim Klein.
