Title to a property without Encumbrances. Generally used to refer to a property free of Mortgage debt. See Clear Title, Marketable Title.
Example: Free and clear title is generally desired by the purchaser of a property. This requires clearing any Clouds on the Title and satisfying any Liens that may exist.
