Plot

Like the title declares, this Frontline investigative report asks the timely question: Does America Still Work? With in-depth interviews with some of America's business elite such as the CEO of Chrysler motor company, Robert Eaton, and the Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich, this PBS production attempts to answer this posing inquiry. With a more global economy and advancement in technology, the work force seems to be shrinking, but why do corporate profits remain high? And, is it still possible in America to have a social contract where hard work is exchanged for a secure and decent life? ~ C. Dwayne Smith, All Movie Guide
