Funimation Channel

The Funimation Channel is a 24-hour anime network that showcases some of Funimation's properties. OlympuSAT[1] was chosen as the exclusive distributor of the network. The Funimation channel is North America's second 24-hour dubbed anime cable outlet, the first being ADV Films' Anime Network. During 2008, 13 new titles were added to the 24-hour channel.

The linear channel is available to Verizon FiOS customers. It is currently not available on Dish Network or DirecTV. Only the Video On-Demand service for the Funimation Channel is available on Dish Network. [2]

On May 1, 2008 the Funimation Channel block was pulled from Colours TV; Funimation has yet to give a reason for the cancellation.

History

Shortly before the Navarre Corporation acquisition, Funimation conducted a survey on its website asking the fans what they thought about a 24-hour anime cable network. Several months passed and Navarre had completed its acquisition of Funimation before the company announced the Funimation Channel.
