First of all you can be whoever you want to be. Like look at me I'm a furry, and I love it. My friends are gamer's and they doint hate me. So being a furry you can express yourself to the world and be who you want to be. And another thing furry's are all around us. Like PBS Kids, Qubo, Movie's EVERYWERE so being a furry is good too. Like I said be who you want to be. Because at the end of the day some people might except it and others doint...BUT I HAVE TO SAY YES because if it makes you happy, it makes you happy :)

If your looking for general furry art, you could try fur affinity. Sure some of it is sort of yiffy, but you work your way around it pretty easily.

If your looking for a community, Furtopia is a good, clean community. I've yet to find better.

If your looking for another fur you could try The Internet Furry Proximity Locater. It worked for me.

If your looking for a mate, Pounced! seems to be good, though I've never used it myself being under 18.

personally i find that IRC rooms are the most effective way to find furries, we tend to hang out in places like that pretty often. I've also seen quite a few in secondlife, and theres a large group on steam called "furry pride". hope this helps =)

Edit: Typically, there are many ways to construct a fursuit. You will need to consider what style you want.

Tooney masks are usually carved out of upholstery foam on top of a lycra balaclava, or on their own. There are many wonderful youtube tutorials for this. Eyes for this type of head are usually constructed out of some mix of plastics or craft foams, as well as buckram- a fabric that you may see out of from inside the suit, but that spectators looking in won't be able to see through.

Realistic heads are usually built on top of resin cast bases. You may learn how to sculpt and cast these yourself, or you may buy them off of a vendor online. Their eyes are commonly cast resin as well, with mesh inside the tear ducts that you may see from.

Body suits and other parts of the body are built out of faux fur. This is a polymer-based textile that you can find in many varieties online. It's impossible to dye, but you can paint them with acrylics.

Notions that you will need will include plenty of thread in your fur's color, lots and lots of hot glue, bias tape to finish the end of your paws, and stuffing to stuff tails and props. Elastic and some EVA or anti-fatigue mat material is also good to have on hand (particularly for outdoor feet paws), as well as any colors of paints you intend to use.

Tools may include a sewing machine (optional), hand sewing needles (not so optional), fabric shears, electric clippers for shaving down fur, electric turkey carvers for carving foam (also optional), and a hot glue gun.

You may want to consider whether or not you want to add things like extra limbs, digi padding, or any other fancy thing that will require its own research. Good luck!

Yes, you'll need to save up a few thousand dollars. Then go on line and search "fursuit makers". Send them a picture of the animal you want to 'become' and then wait a few months and you will receive your anthro creature costume (fursuit) via mail.

Alternatively, you could also make your own costume if you have time.

I honestly wouldn't hide it as if it were a life-or-death secret, I honestly would move along with your life as a casual furry, nothing to ridiculous, and if someone approaches you about it, just explain it.
