Futiankouan Station (simplified Chinese: 福田口岸站), literally means Futian Checkpoint Station[1] or Futian Port Station in English, is a terminus of Shenzhen Metro Line 4. It started operations on 28 June 2007. It is located at the ground level of Futian Port Control Point (simplified Chinese: 福田口岸管制站) in Futian District, Shenzhen, People's Republic of China, and it is the only ground station in Shenzhen Metro. Futian Port Control Point and Futiankouan Station are connected to Hong Kong's Lok Ma Chau Station by a footbridge. It is the southernmost rapid transit station in the People's Republic of China mainland.[2][3]
The station was called "Huanggang Station" (simplified Chinese: 皇岗站) because its location is near Huanggang, which is also an immigration control point between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. But it has been renamed to "Futiankouan Station" since 15 August 2008 to avoid confusion between Futian Port and Huanggang Port.[4][5]
