Norge, Géo (pseud. of Georges Mogin) (1898-1990). Belgian poet, born in Brussels, a relatively popular poet who dares to rhyme. There is nothing ponderous or bombastic in Norge. He is a virtuoso, full of word-play, irony, and invention. He has a genuine lyric gift (in the English sense of the word), which provides great concreteness and density. He believes in communication, saying that poetry ‘is a profession, a craft, not merely an inspiration’. His poems are published in Œuvres poétiques (1973).
