Gabino Ezeiza, nicknamed "Black Gabino" or "Don Gabino" (February 3, 1858 – October 12, 1916), was an Argentine musician.
Early life
Gabino Ezeiza was born February 3, 1858 in the district of San Telmo, in Buenos Aires. Little is known about of his Personal life.
Career
The second half of the nineteenth century was the birthplace of payadores, poets and artists. The poet and musician Ezeiza Gabino was one of the most recognized payadores. For its surprising ease for improvisation became famous as a popular singer. He composed over 600 compositions. He had a wonderful ability to make verses. The improvised at the time and had a perfect ear for the measure, cadence and rhyme, he came out perfect.
Their exploits were known and frequent encounters with other payadores and challenges. To cite some examples, in 1891 held a payada with Nemesio Trejo who was memorable as it lasted three nights. In 1912 faced with Betinotti Jose, who later became his disciple, in a circus that operated in Venezuela and Maza, in the neighborhood of Boedo. Francisco Pi and Suñer wrote: "It was the troubadour of the pampa. Until the emergence of Gabino Ezeiza singing of payadores is characterized by being anonymous. The payada of counterpoint, difficult art based on pure improvisation, was cultivated by very few elected who left their ballads from town to town.
