It's not Carl Sagan's "billions and billions of stars" that Galaxy Energy Corporation is looking for, but a few stellar finds in the oil and gas exploration and production business. The company focuses on acquiring and developing coalbed methane and other natural gas properties in Montana, Texas, and Wyoming. In 2005 Galaxy Energy acquired 60% of a parcel of 4,000 undeveloped acres in the Piceance Basin in Colorado. In 2006 Galaxy Energy reported estimated proved reserves of 1 billion cu. ft. of natural gas and 320 barrels of oil. CEO Marc Bruner owns 14% of the company through his stake in PetroHunter Energy. In 2007 Galaxy Energy agreed to sell its Powder River Basin assets to PetroHunter Energy.
