ganglion of sympathetic trunk


n.

Any of the clusters of postganglionic nerve-cell bodies located at intervals along the sympathetic trunks, including the superior cervical, middle cervical, and cervicothoracic ganglions, the thoracic, lumbar, and sacral ganglions, and the coccygeal ganglion. Also called paravertebral ganglion.
