Geography Dictionary: garden suburb

A planned suburban development with open spaces and low-density housing inspired by the ideas of Ebenezer Howard. Garden suburbs were built in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries as in Bedford Park in 1875, and Hampstead Garden Suburb in 1907.
