Mexican rap-metal act Gatomadre was formed in October of 1998 by ex-Branda Carlos Borunda, ex-Ultimátum Talo Charraga, Alejandro de la Rosa, and Alejandro García. That same year, the band recorded a demo, and by the end of 1999, Gatomadre's first album came out after signing up to an independent label Sum Records.
