Gaumont has the Gaul to be the world's oldest film company. Founded in 1895, the French company produces and distributes about 10 films a year, such as Michel Gondry's The Science of Sleep, Francis Veber's The Valet, and the James Bond-style spoof OSS117: Cairo, Nest of Spies. Gaumont also has a stake in EuroPalaces, France's leading cinema chain. Gaumont ended its distribution agreement with Sony Pictures' Columbia TriStar Motion Pictures in 2007 in order to form its own distribution arm.
