Gazelle is a service of Second Rotation, Inc., based in Massachusetts in the United States, that allows consumers to sell their old electronics — such as cellphones, laptops, mp3 players, digital cameras, camcorders, gaming consoles, GPS devices, and others — for cash.[1] The website, gazelle.com, has users submit the condition of their used devices into its dynamic pricing engine and then generates a cash offer that the user can either accept or decline.[2] If an item has no value, Gazelle will make sure that it gets recycled responsibly.[3]
On January 29, 2008, Second Rotation announced that it had raised $4.4 million in Series A funding from Venrock.[4] And on July 28, 2008, a year after Rousseau Aurelien, CEO, founded the company, SecondRotation.com became Gazelle.com.[5]
