‘Gebet’, a poem of 9 lines by E. Mörike, of which the last 5 appeared in Maler Nolten. It was published complete in 1847. The poet resigns himself to God's will, while hoping to be spared both excessive joy and excessive suffering. It begins ‘Herr, schicke was du willt’.
