Geld-Benussi phenomenon

(¦gelt bə′nu̇s·ē fə′näm·ə·nən)

(psychology) An effect whereby an observer who is presented consecutively with three spatially equidistant light sources lying on a line perceives additional light stimuli at other locations and times. Also known as tau phenomenon.
