Hörmann is closing the door on its old name (Hörmann Gadco) but not on its operations as a leading US garage door manufacturer. Germany-based Hörmann KG acquired General American Door Company, or Gadco, in 2006, making it part of its global residential and commercial garage door business. Today, the company continues to make garage doors crafted from wood, steel, and polyethylene for architects, builders, and homeowners. Its commercial doors range from light to heavy duty; they are impact, abrasion, and weather resistant and also offer insulation. Hörmann's garage doors are used in replacement, remodeling, and new construction work.
