Oddner, Georg (b. 1923), Swedish photographer, active in Malmö. Leaving his job as drummer with the legendary jazz musician Putte Wickman, Oddner travelled to New York in 1950 to work as assistant to Richard Avedon. In 1952, he opened a studio in Malmö. His output has embraced fashion, advertising (Volvo), and portraiture; books on Spain, and on sugar production in Sweden; illustrations for Pablo Neruda's poems; reportage from Vietnam, India, Russia, Japan, and Algeria; and allegorical still lifes. He is a founding member of the influential TIOFOTO group.
