Sabinus, Georg, real name Schuler (Brandenburg, 1508-60, Frankfurt/Oder), a German humanist and author of Latin poetry, especially elegies, was a professor at Frankfurt/Oder, and became the first rector of Königsberg University, East Prussia (founded 1544), returning afterwards to Frankfurt. He was employed by the Elector of Brandenburg on diplomatic missions.
