(b Columbus, ne, 13 Nov 1926). American computer scientist and composer. He was a pioneer of computer sound synthesis at Bell Telephone Laboratories in Murray Hill, New Jersey, in the late 1950s and 1960s, and has also worked at Stanford University and IRCAM in Paris.
