Brittaine, George (?1790-1847), Church of Ireland rector of Kilcormack and author of anti-Catholic novels. In The Election (1838) a Catholic supporter of the landed gentry is murdered by his co-religionists. Irish Priests and English Landlords (1830), Confessions of Honor Delany (1830), Hyacinth O'Gara (1830), and Irishmen and Women (1831) were in the same vein.
