George Edwards and Son is a small bus company that operates from Bwlchgwyn, Wrexham in Wales. It was inaugurated in 1923, and the company has run coaches since that date.
Originally, the only competition was Wrexham & District Transport Co. Ltd's Coedpoeth route followed by the Great Western Railway's bus services, itself followed by Crosville, which became Arriva Cymru.
It operates bus routes between Bwlchgwyn and Wrexham, through villages such as Coedpoeth and Southsea. It operates three Optare Excel buses and four large coaches. It uses these for coach holidays to Europe and domestic locations, as well as school transport to local secondary schools.
In late 2008, the service routes below were sold to D Jones and Son of Rhosllanerchrugog. George Edwards & Son Ltd now only runs its coach holidays business.
Routes
As of November 2007 the company operates three routes under contract to Wrexham County Borough Council:
- 9: Wrexham to Gwynfryn via Wrexham Maelor Hospital, New Broughton, and Coedpoeth. 1 trip daily in this direction only, Monday to Saturday.
- 9: Wrexham to Minera via Wrexham Maelor Hospital, New Broughton, and Coedpoeth. Hourly service, Monday to Saturday.
- 10: Wrexham to Gwynfryn via Wrexham Maelor Hospital, New Broughton, and Coedpoeth. 9 trips daily, Monday to Friday, 8 trips on Saturday.
