George Ledwell Taylor (1788 – 1873) was an architect and landowner who lived in London.

Brother of Captain John William Taylor, RN (b.1782) and General Sir Henry George Andrew Taylor GCB (b.1783 d. 1876)

He designed the Garrison Chapel at The Royal Dockyard, Pembroke Dock [1], and Hadlow Castle, Kent.

He also suggested the name for Trafalgar Square.

He was responsible for an extremely fine set of ground plans of the Royal Dockyards of England and the Colonies. He also designed the lock gates and canal to the Mast Pond at Royal Dockyard, Deptford.

George Ledwell Taylor was born on 1 Mar 1788 in London, Eng. He was christened on 26 Apr 1789 in Saint Katherine by the Tower, London, London, England. He died on 1 May 1873 in Broadstairs, Kent, Eng. He was buried in St. Margaret's Lee, Old Churchyard, Kent, Eng.

George married (1) Sibella Margaret Neufville daughter of Jacob Neufville Esq. and Sibella (Sibylla) Phoebe Sutherland on 6 Jun 1820 in Lambeth, London, England. Sibella was born on 4 Jul 1796. She died on 7 Feb 1836. She was buried in Carlisle Tomb in the Old Churchyard, St. Thomas's Church, Lymington.

4. Commander Alfred Dundas Taylor died on 14 Nov 1898 in Sussex, Eng. Alfred married Eliza Ann Mills "Bessie " daughter of Mills on 15 Jan 1863 in Hackney. Eliza died on 4 May 1891.
