Biography

American screenwriter George H. Plympton's earliest known credits date back to 1916. In the 1920s, Plympton concentrated almost exclusively on Westerns. When talkies came in, he switched his focus to serials, co-scripting such chapter plays as Devil Horse (1932), Tarzan the Fearless (1933), Flash Gordon (1936), The Phantom Creeps (1939), Batman and Robin (1949), and Atom Man vs. Superman (1950). Active until 1957, George H. Plympton was one of the principal writers on Columbia's Jungle Jim series of the 1950s. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
