George Walker (16451690) was an English soldier and Anglican priest, known as the Defender of Derry.

A Doctor of Divinity, Walker was joint Governor of Londonderry during the Siege of Derry in 1689 and received the thanks of the House of Commons for his work.

He was killed in action at the Battle of the Boyne on July 1 1690, whilst going to the aid of Frederic Schomberg, Commander-in-Chief of all English forces in Ireland, who was wounded during the crossing of the river. He is buried in Castlecaufield, County Tyrone.
