George Washington Crile (1864 - 1943) was a significant
In 1921 Crile co-founded the Cleveland Clinic.
In World War II the United States liberty ship SS George Crile was named in his honor. The lunar crater Crile is also named after him.
A grandson is the journalist, author, and CBS producer George Crile III.
