Georgina 'Georgie' Thompson is a British broadcast journalist and television presenter for Sky Sports and Sky Sports News.


Education

While attending an all-girls boarding school[citation needed], she took part in junior international tennis competitions[1], representing England[citation needed]. She then studied Broadcast Journalism at the University of Leeds, graduating with a 2:1 in 1999.[2]

Career

After graduating, Thompson worked as a production assistant on a research and production scheme for GMTV before moving to Sky Sports in January 2001.[2]

She has covered many major sporting events for the network since then, including the US Open Tennis and is the main anchor for Sky's coverage of A1 Grand Prix and Grand Prix Masters. [3]

She is a presenter on Sky Sports News, but only ever presents the 'Afternoon Report' between 3pm and 7pm and no other segment. She also presented the Race Off and Final of the Speedway World Cup from Leszno in Poland and the coverage of the Americas Cup for Sky Sports.

Interests

Along with an active interest in tennis, her other interests include supporting Fulham F.C.[1] and Formula 1.[2]

Trivia

In the May 2007 issue of the British men's magazine FHM, Georgie was voted the 93rd Sexiest Woman in the World. [4]
