Gerd Kerkhoff is a business graduate and completed his studies in business administration at the University Gesamthochschule Essen.
His majors were marketing, personnel management and corporate management. From 1984 to 1999, he was part of the general management of the coffee roasting house Hubert Tempelmann in Dorsten. As sales manager, he was responsible for the strategy to increase market shares through low prices. As a result, he also took over the purchasing management. Then followed the expansion of the company which was to become the second-largest coffee roasting house for dealer brands in Germany.
From 1987 to 1999, he was the managing partner of the newly founded TeKe – die Vertriebspartner OHG. Here, he was responsible for the purchase and sales management of brand articles among trading companies.
And as the managing partner of the also newly established TeKe - die Berater OHG, he was responsible for the consulting accounts in the procurement business for companies. Since 1999, he is the managing partner of Kerkhoff Consulting GmbH.
The consultancy's strategic orientation aims at the positioning as a special consultant for procurement. Since 2004, he has been the general manager of the ten successively established foreign companies.
He is responsible for the foreign companies' expansion and in charge of the implementation of the consultancy accounts. In addition to other renowned clients, he already worked, inter alia, for the U.N. in New York.
On October 1, 2009, Kerkhoff Consulting and the University of St. Gallen established, at the Chair for Logistics Management of the Swiss University of St. Gallen, the Kerkhoff Competence Center of Supply Chain Management (KCC) for researching trends and change processes in Supply Chain Management (SCM). One objective is to provide an interface of science and practice. Trends are to be researched here, and action recommendations are to be derived for the practice.
