Prassinos, Gisèle (b. 1920). Poet and novelist, born in Constantinople. Her youthful collection of poems, Sauterelle arthritique, was published in 1935 and celebrated by the Surrealists. Later she wrote short prose texts and many novels. Breton, who included her in his Anthologie de l'humour noir, wrote: ‘C'est la révolution permanente en belles images coloriées à un sou … Tous les poètes en sont jaloux.’
