Giselher Klebe

(b Mannheim, 28 June 1925). German composer. He studied with Rufer and Blacher in Berlin (1946-51) and has taught at Detmold since 1957. Rather like Henze, he has used a 12-note style to vigorously expressive ends in a sequence of operas, to his own librettos: Die Räuber (1957), Die tödlichen Wünsche (1959), Die Ermordung Cäsars (1959), Alkmene (1961), Jacobowsky und der Oberst (1965), Ein wahrer Held (1975), Das Mädchen aus Domrémy (1976) etc.
