When their parents get divorced, the children in this film must rely on the steadiness of their grandparents and their own resilience to get through. The divorce is viewed by the grandparents as a good thing for the parents, and the children have a less-awful situation than often happens in these cases, because their parents are not hysterical and bitter towards one another. Still, it takes every bit of skill and kindness that everyone possesses to help the children come through this rough patch relatively unscathed. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide
