In Glimcher's ideal world, we'd all be glimmering and glamourous shopaholics. A self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT), Glimcher acquires, develops, and manages retail real estate. Its portfolio includes approximately 25 enclosed shopping malls (a couple owned through a joint venture) and about five strip shopping centers for a total of some 21.6 million sq. ft. of space. Properties are located in about 15 states, primarily in the East and Midwest. Major tenants include Limited Brands, The Gap, and Foot Locker. Glimcher has spent several years divesting its shopping centers so it can focus on its mall properties.
