Review

Sonicflood combined nine live recordings and two new studio tracks for its first release since 2004. Glimpse: Live followed the band's multi-continental trek through the U.S. and Belfast, Northern Ireland; Chiang Mai, Thailand; and the Big Boss Festival in Switzerland. Rick Heil and company were touring in support of This Generation, which accounts for the great amount of more recent material on this go-around. While it fails to shed new light on a prolific amount of material from the band's former lineups, it comes off as a balanced and flowing effort nonetheless. Heil leads the crowds in worship as he introduces several songs, revealing a definite lack of timidity in his gospel message. The trade-off for capturing this live energy is a slightly lower production level than can be found on Sonicflood's renowned studio efforts. Glimpse: Live works best as a straight-through listen. It is a must-have for fans, and a superb, energetic effort that introduces new listeners to CCM-ock classics like "Open the Eyes of My Heart" and "I Want to Know You." ~ Jared Johnson, All Music Guide
