Global Destiny Cable is a direct-to-home cable TV subscription service. Global Destiny Cable is the largest cable TV company in the Philippines; they are serving almost all major cities in Metro Manila and have affiliates almost all-around the Philippines.[1]

History
In January 1995,[2] the Philippines’ commission attached to the Department of Transportation and Communications, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) granted a certificate of public convenience and necessity/provisional authority to install, operate and maintain telecommunications, broadcast and cable antenna television services to Destiny Cable Inc. and allowed to provide cable television services to Metropolitan Manila and nearby municipalities, cities and provinces.
Destiny Cable Inc. embarked on marketing promotion through Solid Group Inc.[3] by offering bundles services: cable television and electronic products and facilitated the latter to build up a distinctive spot in the cable industry. Solid Group Inc. was then known for manufacturing and marketing the leading brands in electronic products.
Global Cable
On February 3, 1993, Global Cable Inc. was given a provisional authority to provide cable television services. The National Telecommunications Commission granted Global Cable Inc a certificate authority to construct, install, maintain and operate a Cable Antenna Television (CATV) System in San Pedro, Laguna on May 1993. Consequently, Global Cable Inc. was also allowed operate and maintain a CATV system in the municipality of San Juan and in the cities of Mandaluyong,[4] Makati, Pasay, Manila, Marikina,[5] Paranaque and Muntinlupa.
Merger with Global Cable
In November 2003 Destiny Cable formed a partnership[6][7] with Global Cable to further strengthen and systematize its cable television ventures. The two companies merged to form Global Destiny Cable.
Global Destiny Cable is perceived to be the closest competitor of SkyCable[8] in Metropolitan Manila. Both have their own associates all over the country and both offer high-speed cable Internet service[9] to its respective subscribers.
