Review

This album sets the pace for this year's world music recordings by percussionists Ed Mann and Brian Hand, with spirited performances, ear-catching rhythms and exciting instrumental textures. Global Warming combines a variety of traditional, contemporary, and one-of-a-kind musical instruments from around the world. "Vibes" is a showcase for Ed's much-admired mallet technique. "Thumbs Up" features a melodic and lyrical solo for the African thumb piano. "Rhythm Ocean" is an undulating sea of percussion, with waves of sound swirling on a bed of congas, hand drums, whistles, rattle and small bells. ~ MusD, All Music Guide
