Golden Age refers to a mythological period of primeval human existence perceived as an ideal state when human beings were pure and free from suffering.
"Golden Age" is also used for any historical period in a field of endeavour that produced superlative achievements; see Golden Age (metaphor) for list of additional golden ages.
