Plot

A Good Job for a Woman is a six-part series created to introduce a wide variety of career choices, and the scores of options within each field. It's especially designed to encourage and motivate young people to consider careers in the math and science fields. Each program profiles women on-the-job to provide a realistic look at the workplace experience. The women also discuss their personal lives and career choices. A Good Job for a Woman: Aviation explores this adventuresome field where the pioneering women aviators of the 20th century have daringly prepared the way for today's generation of female flyers. From the experimental stages of flight, to space travel, women have refused to be left out of the picture. This program introduces viewers to women in a variety of allied career choices. Meet an avionics technician, structural mechanic, administrative supervisor, aircraft painter supervisor, sheet metal mechanic, and electrical engineer. Other programs in the series are A Good Job for a Woman: Mathematics, A Good Job for a Woman: Ecology, A Good Job for a Woman: Maritime Careers, A Good Job for a Woman: Agriculture, and A Good Job for a Woman: Engineers. ~ Sally Barber, All Movie Guide
