Goodman Group is an Australian integrated industrial property development and management company.
The organisation was founded in 1989 as a private property trust focused on industrial properties, listing on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) in 1995 as Goodman Hardie Industrial Property Trust. In 2000 the trust merged with Macquarie Industrial Trust and was renamed Macquarie Goodman Industrial Trust.[1][2]
After a series of mergers, the organisation became known as the Macquarie Goodman Group in 2005, at the time the largest industrial property trust on the ASX and fourth largest in the ASX 200 property index.[5].
In July 2007 the organisation was renamed to its present name, after Macquarie Bank sold its 7.7% interest almost a year earlier.[6]. Goodman is now the second largest industrial and business park property group in the world after it expanded its operations into Europe and Asia through a series of acquisitions.[7]
As of June 2008, the group had 371 properties under management and 97 developments.[3]
