Gostivar (Macedonian: Гостивар, Albanian: Gostivari) is a municipality in western Republic of Macedonia. Gostivar is also the name of the town where the municipal seat is found. Gostivar municipality is part of Polog statistical region.

Geography
The municipality borders Mavrovo i Rostuša, Zajas and Oslomej municipality in the south, Makedonski Brod municipality in the east, Brvenica and Vrapčište municipality in the north, and Albania and Kosovo in the west.
Demographics
According to the last National census from 2002 this municipality has 81,042 inhabitants. [1]
Ethnic groups in the municipality include:
- Albanians = 44,038
- Macedonians = 25,877
- Turks = 7,991
- Roma = 2,237
- others.
