German Literature Companion:

Gothaische Genealogische Taschenbücher

Gothaische Genealogische Taschenbücher, annual publications listing noble families, arranged in separate volumes according to rank and antiquity. The earliest is the Hofkalender, listing ruling and princely families, including those of other countries, which was first published in 1763. The volumes referring to counts, barons, and lower nobility are restricted to German families. They are commonly known in Britain as the Almanach de Gotha.
