American firm of architects. It was founded in 1912 (as Graham, Burnham & Co.) as a successor to D. H. Burnham & Co. by the practice's surviving partner Ernest Graham (b Lowell, MI, 22 Aug 1866; d Chicago, IL, 22 Nov 1936) and Burnham's sons Hubert Burnham and Daniel Burnham jr (see BURNHAM, DANIEL H.). In 1917 the Burnhams left to form Burnham Brothers, and Graham and the others, (William) Peirce Anderson (b Oswego, NY, 1870; d Chicago, 1924), Edward Probst (b Chicago, 1870; d Chicago 1942) and Howard Judson White (b Chicago, 21 Feb 1870; d Chicago, 18 Dec 1936), formed the current firm.
