Biography

A onetime roadie and guitar tech, producer Grant Showbiz first earned significant attention for his work on the later records by the Smiths, including the group's 1988 posthumous live outing Rank. His next major affiliation was with singer/songwriter Billy Bragg, followed by work with artists including Silverfish and Gong. As a performer, Showbiz was one half of the dance music duo Moodswings, which scored a hit with the single "Spiritual High (State of Independence)" from their 1992 debut LP Moodfood. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
