History
The agency was started in 1967 by a dedicated group of volunteers. The agency grew from one ambulance eventually reaching three. By 1985, the agency had outgrown its current building and needed an update. A building was erected by the Morton Building in 1985. It housed 4 ambulance and had sleeping and living quarters. Later an office and training area was pardoned off. In late 1998, with the arrival of a new Lifeline/Ford type 1 ambulance, the fleet of ambulances increased from 3 to 4. This brought the need for more space once again. Over the next 5 years the older type 3 ambulances were replaced with type 1 ambulances. In late 2000 an addition of a 4 bay garage was added to the front of the existing building. The office was turned into Captain's storage and the training room was turned into an office. Two of the old bays were turned into a meeting room and the third remained a hallway from the existing building to the garage, also housing storage cabinents for the mechanic and building officer. In 2000 the agency upgraded their status from basic life support to advanced life support- critical care. The squad continues to grow and enhance its scope of care.
