Greg Handevidt was born in the California Bay Area in Concord. His parents moved to a rural Minnesota town where he met David Ellefson when they were 10 years old. The two moved to Hollywood, after high school, hoping to become musicians. They ended up living next door to Dave Mustaine. After Dave Mustaine was fired from Metallica Greg Handevidt joined the newly formed Megadeth with Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson and Dijon Carruthers in Los Angeles. Shortly after forming, Greg Handevidt left to Marshall, Minnesota and formed Kublai Khan with Kevin Idso in 1986. The band opened for bands like King Diamond, Kreator, and Metal Church. Kublai Khan played underground for some time until their 1987 debut album, Annihilation. They disbanded 2 years later. In 1989 he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the military until 1998. Today, Greg Handevidt is an attorney in California.[1][2][3]
