Game Description

Patterned after the 1984 feature film, Gremlins: Unleashed chronicles the feud between Gizmo the Mogwai and a horde of mischievous Gremlins led by the evil Stripe -- unwittingly unleashed by his master Billy. Two disparate story lines are offered; players can assume control of either Gizmo or his arch-nemesis. Gizmo battles his way through 14 levels inspired by locales from the film (Billy's House, the school, department store, and the cinema, among others), during which he can make use of gadgets such as a camera, tennis ball launcher, and a bow and arrow set to ward off the Gremlins' attacks. Additionally, Gizmo will need to acquire five pairs of sunglasses strewn about each level in order to advance to the next stage.

When playing as Stripe, players will need to avoid traps set by Gizmo and seek a means of escape. Stripe must seek out five items -- water bottles -- in order to complete each level. In a Pokémon-esque twist, upon completion of a level, players are able to select one of 30 different Gremlins that can be unlocked and traded with friends as players attempt to collect them all. Throughout the course of the adventure, three mini-games -- a slide puzzle, Tug o' War, and race -- can be unlocked that, with the Game Boy Advance Link Cable, allows play between two players. ~ Gavin Frankle, All Game Guide
