Biography

Vocal/instrumental folk group from Colombia Cigarra was formed in 1986 by seven experienced musicians who wanted to combine their knowledge and skills. Grupo Cigarra debuted in October that same year while participating in a folkloric local event known as Peña. In 1987, the group came in first place at the First Cresencio Salcedo Music Festival celebrated in Bogota, consolidating Cigarra's place in the local scene.
