Guiguzi (鬼谷子) is an ancient philosopher during the Warring States Period and a founder of the School of Diplomacy (纵横家). His real name was Wang Zeng (王詡), and he lived in the eponymous Guigu (归谷) mountain valley (located in the modern-day Dengfeng (登封) county).
Guiguzi was a fortune teller and a master of military strategy and international relations. His students include Su Qin and Zhang Yi, influential political strategists of the School of Diplomacy, as well as the military strategists Sun Bin and Pang Juan.
