Guillaume Legrant

(fl 1418-56). French composer. A singer in the chapel of Pope Martin V from 1418 until at least 1421, he held several benefices in the diocese of Rouen and may have sung in the chapel of Duke Charles of Orleans in 1455-6. His three mass movements are among the earliest to distinguish between solo and choral polyphony. Three virelais also survive.
