Biography
In service to Pope Martin V, Legrant was a French composer and singer who was able to maintain a number of different benefices near Rouen. It is also possible that he served Duke Charles of Orleans as a singer in the Duke's chapel. Compositions which are extant include both sacred and secular works such as Glorias, Credos and chansons. Legrant's works were among the earliest to make a distinction between choral and solo polyphony and he employed two and three parts on an alternate basis. ~ Keith Johnson, Rovi
